Absalom Lockwood (He-ehe-dewa) Student File

Student file of Absalom Lockwood, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1904 and departed on August 31, 1909. The file contains letters and correspondence, a student information card, a returned student survey, medical/physical records, a progress/conduct card, and an outing record. According to his letters, Absalom was living in Cold Springs, New Mexico and working with fellow Carlisle student Ray Pedro on the Zunia Mt. Railroad in 1912.

The file indicates Ransom was working as a farmer in Hogansburg, New York in 1911 and 1912.

James Bearchild Student File

Student file of James Bearchild, a member of the Piegan Nation, who entered the school on December 21, 1907 and ultimately departed on February 10, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a medical/physical record, student information cards, a progress/conduct card, an application for enrollment, financial transactions, a trade/position record card, an outing record, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Bearchild was a laborer in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1911 and living in Browning, Montana in 1912 and 1915.

Note: Students Benjamin Bearchild and James Bearchild were probably brothers.
