Jesse Youngdeer Student File

Student file of Jesse Youngdeer, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on April 5, 1898, and ultimately departed on June 14, 1909.  The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered.  The file contains student information card, a physical record, a progress card, a newspaper clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates that he was working as an assistant farmer at the Cherokee Indian School in Cherokee, North Carolina, in 1911.

The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a former student response postcard, letters/correspondence, outing evaluations, progress/conduct cards, a trade/position record card, financial transactions, an outing record, and a report after leaving indicating White was working as at the Mount Holly Print Co. in Mount Holly, Pennsylvania in 1910 on the outing program and was a telegraph operator in Watertown, New York in 1914.

Student file of George Dailey (Waydolia), a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on September 7, 1904 and departed on April 7, 1909. The file contains a student information card listing four outings, medical/physical records, a returned student survey, a news clipping, correspondence, a conduct/progress card, former student response postcards, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Dailey was a farmer and stock raiser in Seama, New Mexico in 1913.

Note: Dailey married fellow student Lupia Spira.

Student file of Stanley Johnson, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, who entered the school on September 28, 1904 and departed on June 23, 1909. The file contains a student information card, a medical/physical record, a progress/conduct card, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, letters, a newspaper clipping and a report after leaving indicating Johnson had worked as a farmer in Lewiston, New York in 1910, before moving to Niagara Falls, New York in 1912 and working as a foreman in a printing department.

The file indicates Leroy was working in the C. B. Irwin & Brothers show in Vancouver, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah in 1915, was a member of the South Dakota National Guard stationed in San Benito, Texas in 1916 and was stationed at Camp Greece in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1917 as a member of the 41st U.S. Division.
