Justin Head (Rat Head) Student File

Student file of Justin Head, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on February 2, 1884 and departed on March 1, 1892. The file indicates that Head was living in Florence, Arizona in 1911 and living in Trenton, New Jersey in 1915.

Note: At the time of scanning in the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this folder seemed to relate to a different student, Henry Herrara. Those documents have now been included in the Henry Herrera file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 107_folder 4523.

Samuel Saunooke Student File

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains newspaper clippings, student information cards, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence, and a report after leaving.

The file indicates that Saunooke played on the football team in 1905, was a locomotive car builder for the Altoona Locomotive Works in 1910, 1911, 1912, living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1913, a locomotive car builder for the Altoona Locomotive Works in 1914, farming in Whittier, North Carolina in 1916, working in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1916, and working in a cabinet works in Detroit, Michigan in 1916.

Note: in the file the student is identified as Samuel Saunook, Samuel Sanook and Samuel Saunooka.

Note: Saunooke married student Pearl Bonser.

Peter Wakejoo Student File

Student file of Peter Wakejoo, a member of the Ottawa Nation, who entered the school on November 19, 1899, and departed on July 10, 1906.  The file contains a student information card, correspondence, financial transaction documents, and a report after leaving indicating that Wakejoo was living in Carney's Point, New Jersey in 1917.  Many of the documents in the file relate to a $300 bond for Wakejoo.

The file indicates Jackson was living in Pinconning, Michigan in 1913 and 1914, living in Mount Pleasant, Michigan in 1914, living in St. Charles, Michigan in 1914 and 1915, and working for the Owosso Sugar Company in Alica, Michigan in in 1916 and living in St. Charles, Michigan in 1917.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a former student response postcard, letters/correspondence, outing evaluations, progress/conduct cards, a trade/position record card, financial transactions, an outing record, and a report after leaving indicating White was working as at the Mount Holly Print Co. in Mount Holly, Pennsylvania in 1910 on the outing program and was a telegraph operator in Watertown, New York in 1914.

Note: the student in this file is identified as Percy Parroka, Percy Pahdoco, and Jesse Pahdoco.

Note: Information in other records shows Parroka first entered the school on November 5, 1903. This file primarily reflects his later reenrollment.

The file indicates Tarbell worked with the Ford Motor Company in 1916 and 1917 on the outing program and was a member of Company C, 16th Engineers in the U. S.
