Walter Bigfire Student File

Student file of Walter Bigfire, a member of the Winnebago Nation, who entered the school on August 22, 1896, and departed on July 4, 1902. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, a trade/position record card, and a former student response postcard that indicates Bigfire was working as a laborer for the U.S. Indian Service in Winnebago, Nebraska in 1913.

Note: Students John Bigfire and Walter Bigfire were probably brothers. Both students were known both by the surnames Big Fire and Bigfire.

Abram Colonohaski Student File

Student file of Abram Colonohaski, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on April 5, 1898 and ultimately departed on March 30, 1912. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, trade/position record cards, medical/physical records, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, and a report after leaving indicating he was living in White Earth, Minnesota in 1915.

Note: In this file the student's last name appears as Colonahaski, Colonohaski, Colonahaska, Colonhaski, and Colonohaskie.
