Ralph Iron Eagle Feather Student File

Student file of Ralph Iron Eagle Feather, a member of the Sioux Nation. No entrance or departure dates are given. The file contains a returned student survey, a news clipping, and a report after leaving that indicates he was working as a carpenter, painter, and wheelwright in Cut Meat, South Dakota in 1911. Other records show he enrolled at the school on October 6, 1879 and departed on June 19, 1882. He reenrolled at the school on October 10, 1886 and departed on June 14, 1887.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Ralph Eagle Feather and Ralph Iron Eagle Feather.

Note: Iron Eagle Feather married fellow student Julia Good Voice, also known as Julia Iron Eagle Feather. They were the parents of Lydia Biddle Iron Eagle Feather.

Fred Big Horse (Big Horse) Student File

Student file of Fred Big Horse (Big Horse), a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and ultimately graduated in 1893 and departed on March 6, 1893. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, correspondence, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, a newspaper clipping, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1913 Big Horse was farming in Cutmeat, South Dakota. 

Note: This student is also referred to as Frederick Martin Big Horse and Frederick Bighorse.

Lydia Biddle Eagle Feather Student Information Card

Student information card of Lydia Biddle Eagle Feather, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 10, 1886 and ultimately departed on June 21, 1897.

Note: Lydia was the daughter of students Ralph Iron Eagle Feather and Julia Iron Eagle Feather (previously known as Julia Good Voice). Her first "enrollment" at the age of three documents her stay at Carlisle when her parents reenrolled in 1886. Lydia later returned to the school in 1896 at the age of 14.
