Pearl Bonser Student File

Student file of Pearl Bonser, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1910 and departed on April 4, 1914. The file contains a student information card, a medical/physical record, a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, a news clipping, a report after leaving, a photograph, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Bonser attended the YMCA conference in 1913, was awarded an essay prize through the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, and a housewife living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1914 and 1915.

Note: One of Pearl Bonser's documents was originally found in the folder of another student; Louis Palin, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 114_folder 4707.

Student file of Mary Pleets, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 14, 1910, and ultimately departed on May 5, 1915. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, physical records, letters and correspondence, outing evaluations, an outing record, financial transactions, a conduct card, and a former student response postcard.

Sophie Pleets Student File

Student file of Sophie Pleets, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 14, 1910 and departed on January 8, 1912. The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, outing evaluations, letters/correspondence, a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, an outing record, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1912 Pleets was living in Mahto, South Dakota and had married, going by the name Sophie Whitesel.

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Sophie Pleets and Sophia Pleets.

John Bigfire Student File

Student file of John Bigfire, a member of the Winnebago Nation, who entered the school on October 19, 1910, and departed on June 9, 1913. The file contains a student information card, trade/position record cards, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, a news clipping about Bigfire's wedding in Carlisle to fellow student Rose Simpson, a returned student survey, an outing record, and a progress/conduct card. Before enrolling at Carlisle, Bigfire attended schools in Grand Junction, Colorado and Chamberlain, South Dakota between 1899 and 1906.

Note: Students John Bigfire and Watler Bigfire were probably brothers.

Alfred Lamont Student File

Student file of Alfred Lamont, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1910, and departed on June 10, 1913. The file contains a student information card, letters/correspondence, medical/physical records, a newspaper clipping, a progress/conduct card, a trade/position record cards, an application for enrollment, a former student response postcard, an outing record, and a report after leaving indicating that Lamont was living in Pawhuska, Oklahoma in 1910.

Note: in this file the student is identified as Alfred Lamont, Alfred Lamonte, Alfred La Mott, and Alfred La Motte.
