Richard Wallace Student File

Hugh Chee (Chee) Student File

Student file of Hugh Chee, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on November 4, 1886, and departed on August 5, 1896.  The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating that Chee was farming in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1910.

Note: When Chee's card was retyped it appears the name was erroneously interpreted as Chu, but there is no indication that he ever intentionally used that name.

Student file of Richard Grant, a member of the Piegan Nation, who entered the school on March 26, 1890 and departed on July 23, 1896. The file contains a former student response postcard, a student information card, a news clipping, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a report after leaving that indicates Grant was raising stock and ranching in Family, Montana in 1913.

Ralph Armstrong Student File

Student file of Ralph Armstrong, a member of the Nez Perce Nation, who entered the school on September 7, 1890, graduated in 1898, and departed on May 18, 1898. The file contains a student information card, returned student surveys, a report after leaving, and a letter/correspondence. The file indicates Armstrong was a farmer in Webb, Idaho from 1907 to 1911.

Chauncey Archiquette Student File

Student file of Chauncey Archiquette, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 21, 1890, graduated in 1899,  and ultimately departed on March 6, 1899. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, returned student surveys, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Archiquette attended the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas in 1902, was an assistant clerk at the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1905 and 1906, and was a clerk in Pawhuska, Oklahoma from 1907 to 1911.

Student information card of Mark Hopkins, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on August 7, 1891 and departed on May 2, 1898.

Frank Scott Student File

Student file of Frank Scott, a member of the Seneca Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1892, and ultimately departed on December 4, 1905. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, correspondence in which Scott argued against the exclusion of "New York Indians from Carlisle Schools and other schools supported by the United States Government," and a report after leaving. The file indicates Scott was working as a trolley motorman in Buffalo, New York in 1910 and was living in Buffalo, New York in 1911.

Frank Rooks Student File

Student file of Frank Rooks, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on August 23, 1895 and departed on June 27, 1900. The file contains a student information card, a letter/correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Rooks was working as a rancher while living in Kadoka, South Dakota in 1911.

John Dillon Student File

Student file of John Dillon, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on August 28, 1895 and departed on October 2, 1899. The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating he was living in St. Louis, Missouri while working as an electrical engineer in 1910.

Charles Antell Student File

Student file of Charles Antell, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 20, 1897, and departed on July 3, 1902.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that he was working in Mahnomen, Minnesota, in 1913. 

Note: Students Charles Antell, Lizzie Antell, and Nellie Antell were siblings.
