Cyrus Tallchief Student File

Harry Shawbush (Shawboose) Student File

Student file of Harry Shawbush (Shawboose), a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on February 10, 1903 and departed on April 12, 1908. The file contains a student information card, correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that, in 1911, Shawbush was working as a laborer in Pinconning, Michigan. The file also indicates Shawbush married Louise Chibness, as reported in 1910.

Note: Although these documents show the surname Shawbush, family members have indicated that the name is more properly spelled Shawboose.

Josiah Saracino (Ze yo uta sewa) Student File

Student file of Josiah Saracino (Ze yo uta sewa), a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1904 and ultimately departed on January 9, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, medical/physical records, an outing record, a photograph, progress/conduct cards, correspondence, trade/position record cards, and a report after leaving indicating Saracino was working in the cattle business in Bibo, New Mexico in 1912.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Josiah Saracino and Joshia Saracino.

Student file of Harrison Smith, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 3, 1905 and departed on May 21, 1911. The file contains a student information card, applications for enrollment, a medical/physical record, trade/position record cards, returned student survey, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, a report after leaving, an outing evaluation, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates that Smith went on a trip to Philadelphia with the school band, was working as an Industrial teacher and disciplinarian at the boarding school in Oneida, Wisconsin in 1914 and 1915.

Note: Information in other records indicates Smith re-enrolled and graduated in 1913.

The file indicates Ray was living in Winslow, Arizona in 1913 and was a farmer in Paquate, New Mexico in 1914.
