Student file of Nellie Carey, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on July 31, 1880, and departed on March 6, 1893.  The file contains student information cards, correspondence, former student response postcards, a news clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Carey was working as a laundress in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1915.

Michael Burns Student File

Student file of Michael Burns, a member of the Yavapai Nation, who entered the school on October 26, 1880, and departed on October 6, 1884.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a position card, a returned student survey, correspondence, a newspaper clipping, and a report after leaving indicating that Burns was working as a farmer in McDowell, Arizona, from 1914 to 1915. The records also indicate that, in 1910, Burns was a student in the Riverside School of Riverside, California.

Note: Although this card lists Michael Burns as Apache, other sources (including his own memoir) indicate that he is actually Yavapai.

Laban Locojim Student File

Student file of Laban Locojim (Laban L. James), a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on February 2, 1884 and departed on March 23, 1894. The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Locojim was a farmer and a member of the United States Scouts stationed at Fort Apache, Arizona in 1910 and a farmer in Whiteriver, Arizona in 1913.

Justin Head (Rat Head) Student File

Student file of Justin Head, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on February 2, 1884 and departed on March 1, 1892. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, land grants, parole records, an outing evaluation, correspondence concerning Head's parole, a trade/position record card, a medical/physical record, financial transactions, newspaper clippings, a Senate resolution, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Head was living in Florence, Arizona in 1911 and living in Trenton, New Jersey in 1915.

Note: At the time of scanning in the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this folder seemed to relate to a different student, Henry Herrara. Those documents have now been included in the Henry Herrera file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 107_folder 4523.

The file contains student information cards indicating that Whiteface went on three outings to various locations in Pennsylvania during her time at Carlisle.

Job Hunterboy (The Hunter Boy) Student File

Student file of Job Hunterboy (The Hunter Boy), a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on February 2, 1884 and departed on August 19, 1891. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1913 Hunterboy was farming in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Note: This student later changed his name to Joseph W. Hunter.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, former student response postcards, letters/correspondence, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Top Rock was living in San Carlos, Arizona in 1910, an interpreter for the San Carlos Agency in San Carlos, Arizona in 1911 and farming in San Carlos, Arizona in 1913 and 1915.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, former student response postcards, a newspaper clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Casadore was living in Chicago, Illinois in 1910, as a farmer and herder in San Carlos, Arizona in 1911, 1912, and 1913, and was working as a farmer doing general work in 1914.

Note: in the file the student is identified as Norman Casadore and Norman Cassadore.

Ralph Naltuey Student File

The file indicates Naltuey served as a laborer in Rice, Arizona in 1914.

Note: in this file the student is identified as Ralph Naltuey, Ralph Naltway, Ralph Maltney, and Ralph Naltney.
