Note: Although the card says that Keam's Canyon is in Colorado, it is actually in Arizona.

Francis Ortiz Student File

Student file of Francis Ortiz, a member of the Queres Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1884, and departed on February 25, 1890. The file contains a student information card, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a former student response postcard indicates that Ortiz was working as a farmer and a railroad laborer in Acomita, New Mexico in 1913.

This file also includes correspondence and a returned student survey from Frank's daughter, Juana E. Ortiz. Juana was not a student at Carlisle.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Francis Ortiz and Frank Ortiz.

Maria Analla Student File

Student file of Maria Analla, a member of the Queres Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1884 and departed on July 8, 1889. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a photograph, an issue of The Friend: A Religious and Literary Journal, and a report after leaving indicating Analla was married to former student Robert Marmon and living in Laguna, New Mexico in 1910.

Note: The file contains a newspaper article referring to a visit to the home of Robert Marmon and his wife (Maria Analla). The article also refers to former Carlisle student Maria Iteye, who may be Maria Etiva. 

Note: Students Maria Analla and Walter Analla were probably siblings.

The file contains a student information card, a news clipping, correspondence, a report after leaving, and a returned student survey that indicates Paisano was working as a farmer and stock raiser in Laguna, New Mexico in 1911. Paisano was also elected Governor of the Pueblo of Laguna.
