Thomas Mason Student File

Student file of Thomas Mason, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on August 27, 1892, and departed on March 19, 1901.  The file contains a student information card, former student response postcards, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1915 Mason was working as a carpenter and laborer in Redby, Minnesota.

Simon Johnson Student File

Student file of Simon Johnson, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on September 17, 1899 and ultimately departed on August 4, 1909. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, news clippings, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, and correspondence. The file indicates Johnson was a farmer in Tullytown, Pennsylvania in 1910.

Isaac Cook Student File

Student file of Isaac Cook, a member of the St. Regis Nation, who entered the school on October 30, 1906 and departed on September 7, 1911. The file contains a student information card, a progress/conduct card, a financial transaction, an outing record, outing evaluations, an application for enrollment, and letters/correspondence indicating Cook was living in Hogansburg, New York in 1913.

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Isaac Cook and Isaac Cooke. At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, a document in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Lyman Madison. That document has now been included with the Lyman Madison file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 145_folder 5636.

Lyman Madison Student File

Student file of Lyman Madison, a member of the Mashpee Nation, who entered the school on December 29, 1909, graduated in 1917 and ultimately departed on May 6, 1918. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a student information card, an application for enrollment, correspondence, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, a conduct card, trade record cards, financial transactions, an outing record, a report after leaving, and certificates of promotion. The files indicate that Madison studied painting while at Carlisle, and worked for the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan after leaving.

Note: One of Lyman Madison's documents was originally found in the folder of another student; Isaac Cook, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 75_folder 3644.

George Allen (Shough-nuk-ko-uck) Student File

Student file of George Allen (Shough-nuk-ko-uck), a member of the Kickapoo Nation, who entered the school on September 26, 1913 and departed on December 15, 1914. The file contains a student information card, financial transactions, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, and letters/correspondence.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this file seemed to relate to a different student, also named George Allen. Those documents have now been included in the George Allen file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 131_folder 5177.
