Samuel Saunooke Student File

Student file of Samuel Saunooke, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on September 17, 1899, and ultimately departed on September 30, 1907. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains newspaper clippings, student information cards, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence, and a report after leaving.

The file indicates that Saunooke played on the football team in 1905, was a locomotive car builder for the Altoona Locomotive Works in 1910, 1911, 1912, living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1913, a locomotive car builder for the Altoona Locomotive Works in 1914, farming in Whittier, North Carolina in 1916, working in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1916, and working in a cabinet works in Detroit, Michigan in 1916.

David Bird Student File

Student file of David Bird, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on October 8, 1905 and ultimately departed on April 15, 1917. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, an outing evaluation, a progress/conduct card, a report after leaving, an outing record, financial transactions including credit from the Athletic Association to local merchants, and correspondence. The file indicates Bird was on the football team and was transferring to the Charlotte, North Carolina branch of the Ford Motor Company in 1917.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, a medical/physical record, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, a financial transaction, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates King was living in Oneida, Wisconsin in 1913.

Pearl Bonser Student File

Student file of Pearl Bonser, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1910 and departed on April 4, 1914. The file contains a student information card, a medical/physical record, a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, a news clipping, a report after leaving, a photograph, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Bonser attended the YMCA conference in 1913, was awarded an essay prize through the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, and a housewife living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1914 and 1915.
