Nellie Robertson Student File

Student file of Nellie Robertson, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1880, graduated in 1890, and ultimately departed on July 2, 1896. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a photograph, news clippings, a report after leaving, a financial transaction, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Robertson graduated from the West Chester Normal School in West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1896, was a teacher for four years at the Carlisle Indian School, a clerk in the Carlisle Indian School in 1907, the outing manager at the Carlisle Indian School in 1911, and was still working at the school in 1918.

Student file of Geneva Jamison, a member of the Seneca Nation, who entered the school on February 19, 1898 and departed on September 18, 1901. The file contains a student information card, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, and correspondence.

The file indicates Jamison attended schools in Jamestown, New York, Buffalo, New York, and graduated from the Warren Emergency Hospital Training School in Warren, Pennsylvania in 1909, was a night superintendent nurse at the Warren Emergency Hospital in Warren, Pennsylvania in 1910, and was living in Warren, Pennsylvania in 1914.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Harriet A. Jamison. Those documents have now been included with the Harriet A. Jamison file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 59_folder 2988.
