The file indicates Welch was working on a farm in Spooner, Wisconsin and was a student at the State Agriculture College (University of Wisconsin) in Madison, Wisconsin in 1915, was a bugler in Co. D 6th Wisconsin Infantry at Camp Douglas, Wisconsin 1917, was a member of the 107 2nd Co. Mounted Military Police at Camp McArthur in Waco, Texas in 1917, and ultimately served in France during World War I.

Marie Garlow Student File

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an outing evaluation, applications for enrollment, financial transactions, outing records, a federal financial aid form, progress/conduct cards, a pupil monthly report, a transcript from Carlisle with grades, and correspondence indicating that Garlow suffered from tuberculosis. Several letters also indicate that Garlow applied to several hospitals for training, including Buffalo General Hospital, after she left Carlisle.

Grover Martell Student File

Student file of Grover Martell, a member of the Pottawatomi Nation, who entered the school on September 9, 1911 and ultimately departed on July 2, 1917. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, trade and position record cards, and outing records. This file also contains correspondence relative to his enrollment at the school, his training as a mason, work at the Ford Motor Company, and financial and medical matters.

Note: In this file the student's name appears as both Grover Martelle and Grover Martel.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this student file seem to relate to different students, Charles Baird and David Bird. The file indicates Pratt worked at the Ford Motor Works Company in Highland Park, Michigan on the outing system and was living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1916 and 1917.
