Charles Brave (Charles Good Voice Iron) Student File

William Brewer Student File

Student file of William Brewer, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 7, 1892 and departed on May 2, 1898. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response post card, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Brewer was married, had two sons, and was raising stock and living in Porcupine, South Dakota in 1910.

Note: Rachel Brewer and William Brewer were siblings.

Antonio Jose Martinez Student File

Student file of Antonio Jose Martinez, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on September 4, 1893 and departed on May 1, 1896. The file contains a student information card, trade/position record card, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence related to looking for a job, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving that indicates Martin was living in Phoenix, Arizona in 1913. The file also includes Martin's application for an appointment in the United States Indian School Service. Martin also lists "Yacky," possibly Yaqui, as his tribe on several documents.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Antonio Jose Martin and Antonio C. Martinez.

Fred Hare Student File

Student file of Fred Hare, a member of the Seneca Nation, who entered the school on January 30, 1894 and departed on June 26, 1900. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating Hare was living in Silver Creek, New York while working and taking courses in horse training in 1911.

Genus L. Baird Student File

Student file of Genus L. Baird, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on June 21, 1894 and ultimately graduated in 1902, departing on August 31, 1902. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a returned student survey, student information cards, a news clipping, correspondence, and a trade/position record card.

The file indicates that Baird was a prominent baseball player, worked on the "New Era" in Rosebud, South Dakota, and at the Rosebud Boarding School in Rosebud, South Dakota.  The file also indicates that Baird worked as an assistant printer at the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania from 1902 to 1905, and as a faculty member at the Pipestone Indian Service in Minnesota in 1909, and was living in Chin Lee, Arizona in 1915.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Genus Baird, Genius Baird, Gennis Baird, and Jonas Baird.

Frank Andrews Student File

Student file of Frank Andrews, a member of the Puyallup Nation, who entered the school on August 9, 1894 and ultimately departed on May 25, 1905. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, returned student survey, correspondence, a news clipping, a report after leaving, and a former student response postcard that indicates Andrews was working as a farmer in Wapato, Washington in 1912.
