John Bridges recommends his dad, Father George Bridges, to be the new superintendent of the Carlisle Indian School. Bridges states that George is the superintendent of a mission school. Commissioner of Indian Affairs Francis E. Leupp informs John that George is not part of the classified Civil Service, so he is not eligible.
