Bessie Metoxen Student File

Student file of Bessie Metoxen, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 13, 1905, and departed on June 6, 1910. The file contains a student information card, medical and physical records, a returned student survey in which she writes about having worked as a waiter, a trade and position card, an outing record, a report after leaving, a progress and conduct card, and former student response postcards indicating that she married Philip Somers on October 29, 1914 and was living in West De Pere, Wisconsin, in 1915. The file also contains letters and correspondence between the school and Lucy Swamp, Bessie's cousin, regarding Bessie.

Student file of Nora McFarland, a member of the Nez Perce Nation, who entered the school on November 12, 1907 and departed on May 11, 1910. The file contains a student information card, an application for enrollment, medical/physical record, letters/correspondence, a former student response postcard, trade/position record cards, a progress/conduct card, photographs, an outing record, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, and a financial transaction. The file indicates that McFarland was working as a housekeeper in Fort Lapwai, Idaho in 1913.

Student file of Anita Pollard, a member of the Nomelaki Nation, who entered the school on September 1, 1908 and departed on April 16, 1914. The file contains applications for enrollment, student information cards, medical/physical records, a photograph, outing evaluations, letters/correspondence, outing records, a progress/conduct card and a report after leaving.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Anita Pollard, Juanita Pollard and Aneta Pollard.

Evelyn Blackbird Student File

Student file of Evelyn Blackbird, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on August 31, 1909 and ultimately departed on June 1, 1915. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, returned student surveys, financial transactions, a medical/physical record, applications for enrollment, outing evaluations, a trade/position record card, outing records, a progress/conduct card, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Blackbird was living in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin in 1915.

Note: Some of Evelyn Blackbird's documents were originally found in the folder of another student; Ida Thayer, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_folder 73_folder 3575.

Note: Blackbird married fellow student Thomas DeVine.

Lucile Abert Student Information Card

Student information card of Lucile Abert, a member of the Menominee Nation, who entered the school on October 2, 1917. The file indicates Abert transferred to the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas upon departing from Carlisle.
