Peter Eastman Student File

Student file of Peter Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 30, 1911, graduated in 1913, and ultimately departed on April 8, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a trade/position record, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, an application for enrollment, letters/correspondence, and a medical/physical record. The file indicates that Eastman was living in Peever, South Dakota in 1914, and living in Sisseton, South Dakota in 1915.

Francis Eastman Student File

Student file of Francis Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation who entered the school on October 30, 1911, graduated in 1913, and ultimately departed on August 12, 1916. The student did not attend school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, financial transactions, progress cards from Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall), student information cards, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, and letters regarding Eastman's post-departure plans, health, and status of citizenship. The correspondence also indicates that Eastman wanted to farm in South Dakota and that he became a US citizen along with fifty other Native Americans in early September 1916.

Student information card of Peter Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 30, 1911, and departed on May 14, 1913. The information card indicates that Eastman had graduated in 1913, married Germaine Renville, and was living in Peever, South Dakota in 1915.

Cornelia Eastman Student Information Card

Student information card of Cornelia Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 6, 1912 and ultimately departed on August 31, 1918. The file indicates Eastman remained at her outing home in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania upon the closure of the Carlisle Indian School.

Cornelia Belle Eastman Student File

Student file of Cornelia Belle Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 6, 1912, and departed on October 19, 1915. A note in the file says she re-enrolled on January 8, 1916 but no final departure date is given. The file contains student information cards, an outing record, an outing evaluation, letters/correspondence, financial transactions, certificates of promotion, and an application for enrollment. The file indicates that Eastman was living in Washington D. C. in 1922 and had applied to enter a training school for nurses in Maryland.
