Reuben Quick Bear Student File

Fred Big Horse (Big Horse) Student File

Student file of Fred Big Horse (Big Horse), a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and ultimately graduated in 1893 and departed on March 6, 1893. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, letters/correspondence, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, a newspaper clipping, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1913 Big Horse was farming in Cutmeat, South Dakota. 

Note: This student is also referred to as Frederick Martin Big Horse and Frederick Bighorse.

Ernest Quick Bear Student File

Student file of Ernest Quick Bear, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on August 31, 1906, and departed on May 18, 1909. The file contains a student information card, correspondence, an application for enrollment, trade/position record cards, a returned student survey, a physical record, a progress/conduct card, a report after leaving, and former student response postcards that indicate Quick Bear was working as the disciplinarian at the Rosebud Boarding School in Mission, South Dakota in 1914.

Note: Ernest appears to the son of former student Reuben Quick Bear who was among the first students to arrive at Carlisle.
