Siceni Nori Student File

Student file of Siceni Nori, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1884, graduated in 1894, and ultimately departed on December 3, 1895. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains news clippings, student information cards, a report after leaving, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Nori was a pitcher on the baseball team at Carlisle, attended Dickinson College for two years, was made a thirty-second degree Mason and was chief clerk to the Superintendent of the Carlisle Indian School in 1911, and was living in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1917.

Charles E. Dagenett Student File

Student file of Charles E. Dagenett, a member of the Peoria Nation, who entered the school on November 15, 1887, graduated in 1891, and ultimately departed on December 14, 1891. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, news clippings, photographs, returned student surveys, a report after leaving, and letters/correspondence.

The file indicates Dagenett attended Dickinson College in 1891; graduated from Eastman Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York; was the Supervisor of Indian Employment in Denver, Colorado in 1910; executive committee chairman of the American Indian Association in 1911; and was the Supervisor of Indian Employment at the Indian Office in Washington, D. C. in 1915.

Note: Dagenett married fellow student Esther Miller.

The information card indicates that Dagenett had graduated in 1891, married fellow student Esther Miller, studied printing, and was living in Washington, D. C. in 1914.

Rosa Bourassa Student File

Student file of Rosa Bourassa, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on August 7, 1889, graduated in 1890, and departed on February 25, 1892. The file contains a student information card, returned student survey, photographs, news clippings, a report after leaving, letters/correspondence, and a trade/position record card. The file indicates Bourassa was a teacher in various schools in the Indian Service including the Carlisle Indian School, the Fort Hall Indian School, and Phoenix Indian School; an assistant matron at the Carlisle Indian School, corresponding secretary of the American Indian Association, clerk of the outing system at the Carlisle Indian School in 1913 and 1914, and an office assistant for the Society of American Indians in Washington D.C. in 1914.

Student file of Tecumseh Bluejacket, a member of the Shawnee Nation, who entered the school on October 11, 1893, and departed on October 12, 1896. The file contains a student information card, a trade/position record card, and correspondence about Bluejacket looking for a job with the Indian Service.

Note: In the file the student is referred to as both Tecumseh Bluejacket and Pearl Tecumseh Bluejacket.

Stuart Hazlett Student File

Student file of Stuart Hazlett, a member of the Piegan Nation, who entered the school on November 20, 1894, graduated in 1899, and departed on March 6, 1899. The file contains a student information card, letters/correspondence, a trade/position record card, returned student surveys, former student response postcards, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Hazlett attended Wilson's Modern Business College in Seattle, Washington in 1908, was an Indian employment overseer in Browning, Montana in 1910 and 1911, and was ranching in Browning, Montana from 1912 to 1914.

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Stuart Hazlett and Stewart Hazlett.

Walter Hill Student File

Student file of Walter Hill, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on June 28, 1895 and ultimately departed on July 5, 1898. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, letters/correspondence, returned student surveys, a trade/position record card, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Hill was a mason in Oneida, Wisconsin in 1910 and as an assistant carpenter in Odanah, Wisconsin in 1911.

Julius Warren Student File

Student file of Julius Warren, a member of the Colville Nation, who entered the school on July 25, 1896 and departed on October 1, 1898. The file contains a photograph postcard, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that, in 1911, Warren was working as a machinist in Oil Center, California.

Montreville Yuda Student File

Student file of Montreville Yuda, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 10, 1908 and departed on May 19, 1913. The file contains a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, returned student surveys, an application for enrollment, trade/position record cards, a medical/physical record, and letters/correspondence.

The file indicates that Yuda worked for three years as a printer at the school and played the flute. He continued to live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in through 1917, and worked for a time at the E. C. Beetem Carpet Factory. In 1917 Yuda also worked with the New York Shipbuilding Company in Camden, New Jersey. He was an instructor with the Emergency Fleet Corporation at Newport News in 1918, and was then working with in the shipbuilding yards at Hogs Island, Pennsylvania where he helped oversee outing students working in the yards.

Elinor Jacobs Student File

Student file of Elinor Jacobs, a member of the Cayuga Nation, who entered the school on October 28, 1908 and departed on June 11, 1913. The file contains a student information card, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, a former student response postcard, an outing evaluation, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, outing records, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Jacobs was a housekeeper in Syracuse, New York in 1913.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file indicates George was working at a cotton mill in Whittier, North Carolina in 1915, working for the Southern Railroad Company in Whittier, North Carolina in 1916, and living in Cherokee, North Carolina in 1917.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, letters/correspondence, trade record cards, an outing evaluation, an outing record, financial transactions, and certificates of promotion. The files indicate Miller was interested in painting and carpentry and helped coach the lacrosse team.
