Student file of Bruce Goesback, a member of the Arapahoe Nation, who entered the school on June 25, 1904 and ultimately departed on December 12, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, trade/position record, medical/physical records, newspaper clippings, a returned student survey, an application for enrollment, a progress/conduct card, and report after leaving.

The file indicates that Goesback was living in Fort Washakie, Wyoming in 1911, working as an interpreter and a coach at the Wind River School in Wind River, Wyoming in 1911 and as a disciplinarian in Flandreau, South Dakota in 1914 and 1915.

A note in the file says he re-enrolled on September 12, 1915, but no final departure date is given. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence, a certificate of promotion, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Sutton was a student in Conesus, New York in 1910.

Charles Pratt Student File

Student file of Charles Pratt, a member of the Pottawatomi Nation, who entered the school on September 10, 1911 and ultimately departed on October 26, 1915. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, financial transactions, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, a trade/position record card, and correspondence. The file indicates Pratt worked at the Ford Motor Works Company in Highland Park, Michigan on the outing system and was living in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1916 and 1917.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives this file contained a document relating to another student, Jonas Smith. That document has now been moved to the correct file on this site: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 128_folder 5099.

William Thayer Student File

Student file of William Thayer, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 30, 1912, graduated in 1915, and departed on May 24, 1915. The file contains student information cards, an outing record, an outing evaluation, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, financial transactions, returned student survey, and letters/correspondence including a essay prize from 1914. The file indicates Thayer was working at the Hayward Indian School in Hayward, Wisconsin in 1916 and stationed at the Naval Training Camp in Charleston, South Carolina in 1917.

Note: A document in this file seemed to relate to different students, Charles and Fred Walker. That document has now been included with these respective files: Charles Walker, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 133_folder 5223; and Fred Walker, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 133_folder 5224.

The file indicates Lewey was living in Chebeague Landing, Maine in 1915.

Note: In this file, the student is referred to as John Lewey and John Loway.

Note: Other documentation shows that Burns Prairie was a member of the Sioux nation who arrived on September 12, 1913 and transferred to Haskell Indian School upon the closure of Carlisle. He and student Edward Burns Prairie were brothers.

A note in the file says she re-enrolled on September 23, 1916, but no final departure date is given. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, a federal financial aid form, certificates of promotion, financial transactions, outing records, and correspondence. The file indicates Standingbear was living in Toledo, Iowa in 1918.
