Thomas King Student File

The file indicates that King was married to May Long with a family of four children, working as a laborer and bandmaster at the Riggs Institute in Flandreau, South Dakota in 1910, and working for himself in Luffman, South Dakota.

Sirenus Smith Student File

Student file of Sirenus Smith, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on January 19, 1895 and departed on June 27, 1900. The file contains former student response postcards, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Smith was farming in Oneida, Wisconsin in 1913.

Note: It appears that during his time at the school, this student was known primarily as Sirenus Smith and after departing he used both Cirenus Smith and Cyrenus Smith.

Lillian Cornelius Student Information Card

Student information card of Lillian (here Lilian) Cornelius, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on January 19, 1895 and departed on February 18, 1903. The information card indicates that Cornelius had graduated in 1903, married Fred Tibbetts, and was living in Bena, Minnesota in 1913.

Note: Three students named Lillian Cornelius (all from the Oneida nation) attended the school. (All of them were also referred to as Lillie, Lily, or Lilly at times.) This naturally led to some confusion in the school's recordkeeping. Documents for the three students were located in student files 4159 and 6128. We have tried to correct filing errors and collect records for the same student in one place. Therefore you can find documents for Lillian Cornelius who entered in 1895 and departed in 1903 under file 4159a; documents for Lillie Cornelius who entered in 1885 and departed in 1890 are in file 4159b; documents for Lillian Cornelius who entered in 1911 and departed in 1914 are in file 6128.

Student file of Lillan Cornelius, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on January 19, 1895, graduated in 1903, and ultimately departed on February 18, 1903. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards. 

Note: Three students named Lillian Cornelius (all from the Oneida nation) attended the school. (All of them were also referred to as Lillie, Lily, or Lilly at times.) Clarence Butler Student File

Student file of Clarence Butler, a member of the Coeur d'Alene Nation, who entered the school on February 7, 1895, graduated in 1898, and departed on March 16, 1898. The file contains a student information card, returned student surveys, former student response postcards, a news clipping, a report after leaving, photographs, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Butler was an electrician and steam engineer in Browning, Montana in 1907 and was working in real estate and farming in St. Maries, Idaho in 1913.

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Clarence Butler and Clarence Boutelier.
