Note: The April 22, 1887 issue of The Indian Helper announced that: "Grasshopper is Grasshopper no longer. He is name is George Nyruah." There are photographs with a student identified as Grasshopper who is Apache, and who would have been at the school at the same time as George Nyrnah. Therefore, we believe these are the same person.

John B. Warren (Tchitchibin) Student File

Student file of John B. Warren (Tchitchibin), a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on February 11, 1884, graduated in 1900, and ultimately departed on May 19, 1902. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Warren attended the Normal School in Indiana, Pennsylvania in 1900, was cruising in White Earth, Minnesota in 1907, and was living in Ogema, Minnesota in 1914.
