The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, photographs, letters/correspondence related to the American Indian Association and Stewart's reflection on his time at Carlisle, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Stewart was a painter in Rosebud, South Dakota in 1910 and living in Rosebud, South Dakota in 1912.

Note: In this file the student is identified as both Raymond White Bull and Raymond Stewart.

Note: It is likely that Stewart married fellow student Amy Crowdog.

Student file of Daniel Milk (Warrior), a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 6, 1879 and ultimately departed on July 6, 1885. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, letters/correspondence related Milk's decision to not donate to the Alumni Association, a returned student survey, a photograph, and a report after leaving that indicates Milk was a farmer in St. Charles, South Dakota in 1912.

Etadleuh Doanmoe Student File

Student file of Etadleuh Doanmoe, a member of the Kiowa Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1879 and ultimately departed on January 2, 1888. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a photograph, and a newspaper clipping. The files indicate that Doanmoe married Tone-adle-mah, and after leaving the school became a missionary.

Richard Davis Student File

Student file of Richard Davis, a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1879, and ultimately departed on June 30, 1891. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a photograph, a newspaper clipping, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Davis was working as an interpreter and farmer in Kingfisher, Oklahoma in 1910 and was living in Kingfisher, Oklahoma in 1911.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Robert Davis. Those documents have now been included with the Robert Davis file: NARA_RG75_1327_box 73_ folder 3592.

Note: Davis married fellow student Nellie Aspenall in 1888, while they were both still students.

The file contains student information cards, former student response postcards, a photograph, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating Perry was a housekeeper in Casa Blanca, New Mexico in 1910 and 1911 and a housewife living in Casa Blanca, New Mexico in 1913.

Student file of Joseph Payawesea, a member of the Menominee Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1880, and departed on June 17, 1884. The file contains a student information card, letters/correspondence, a photograph, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Payawesea was living in Keshena, Wisconsin in 1900 and a farmer in Keshena, Wisconsin in 1910.

Note: In this file the student's surname is identified as Payawesea, Pyawasay, and Payawasea.

Nellie Robertson Student File

Student file of Nellie Robertson, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1880 and ultimately departed on July 2, 1896. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a photograph, news clippings, a report after leaving, a financial transaction, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Robertson graduated from the West Chester Normal School in West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1896, was a teacher for four years at the Carlisle Indian School, a clerk in the Carlisle Indian School in 1907, the outing manager at the Carlisle Indian School in 1911, and was still working at the school in 1918.

Eliza Bell Student File

Student file of Eliza Bell, a member of the Creek Nation, who entered the school on January 22, 1881, and departed on August 20, 1885. The file contains a student information card, former student response postcards, photographs, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Bell attended the Wealaka Indian Mission School, was keeping house in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1912, living in Natura, Oklahoma in 1913, a housewife in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 19134, and was a farmer in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1915.

Note: Eliza Bell and James Bell were siblings.

Millie McIntosh Student File

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a student information card listing two outings in Pennsylvania, two "before and after" photographs taken by the school, and a report after leaving indicating that Torlino was living in Tohatchi, New Mexico in 1910.

Chauncey Yellow Robe (Killed in the Timber) Student File

Student file of Chauncey Yellow Robe (Killed in the Timber), a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and ultimately departed on April 1, 1895. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains letters/correspondence, returned student surveys, former student response postcards, news clippings, a report after leaving, and photographs. The file indicates Yellow Robe was an industrial teacher in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1907 and 1911 and a disciplinarian in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1913 and 1915.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Chauncey Yellow Robe and Timber Yellow Robe.

Frank Jannies Student File

Student file of Frank Jannies, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883, and departed on July 8, 1889. The file contains a student information card, a photograph, correspondence related to financial transactions, enrolling other children as students at Carlisle as well as attending the commencement exercises at Carlisle, a trade/position record card, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, and a former student response postcard indicating that Jannies was a farmer and stock raiser in Winner, South Dakota in 1914. Jannies also served in the United States Army.

Note: In this file the student's surname is identified as Jannies, Janies, and Jannis.

Maria Analla Student File

Student file of Maria Analla, a member of the Queres Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1884 and departed on July 8, 1889. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a photograph, newspaper clippings, and a report after leaving indicating Analla was married to former student Robert Marmon and living in Laguna, New Mexico in 1910.

Note: The file contains a newspaper article referring to a visit to the home of Robert Marmon and his wife (Maria Analla). The article also refers to former Carlisle student Maria Iteye, who may be Maria Etiva. 

Note: Students Maria Analla and Walter Analla were probably siblings.

Zippa Metoxen Student File

Student file of Zippa Metoxen, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 30, 1885 and departed on August 7, 1894. The file contains a student information card, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, a photograph of her four daughters, a former student response card, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Metoxen attended the New Haven Hospital Training School for Nurses in New Haven Connecticut in 1892, 1893, and 1894 and was a housekeeper and raising poultry in West De Pere, Wisconsin in 1910 and was a housekeeper in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin in 1912 and 1913 .

Note: In this file the student writes to the school using her married name Zippa Metoxen Skenandore.

Thomas Metoxen Student File

Student file of Thomas Metoxen, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 30, 1885, graduated in 1892, and ultimately departed on October 22, 1892. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, returned student surveys, a former student response postcard, a letter/correspondence, a photograph, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Metoxen was a farmer in Kaukauna, Wisconsin in 1907 and 1911 and a farmer in West DePere, Wisconsin in 1912.

Note: These documents was found filed at the U.S. National Archives in the same folder as a document related to a different Thomas Metoxen.

Dennison Wheelock Student File

Student file of Dennison Wheelock, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school September 30, 1885 and ultimately departed on July 6, 1892. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains photographs, student information cards, news clippings, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, a former student survey, and letters/correspondence.

The file indicates that Wheelock attended Dickinson College, was a band leader at the Carlisle Indian School, a disciplinarian at Flandreau Indian School, a band leader at the Haskell Institute, and was a real estate agent and lawyer in West DePere, Wisconsin in 1909 and 1911. Wheelock was also a member of the Society of American Indians that met with Woodrow Wilson in 1915.

Edwin Schanandore Student File

Student file of Edwin Schanandore, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on November 7, 1885 and departed on July 16, 1892. The file contains returned student surveys, a news clipping, photographs, a student information cards, a report after leaving, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Schanandore was a disciplinarian and band master in the Indian Service in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1907 and was living in Flandreau, South Dakota in 1917.

Student file of Martin D. Archiquette, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on November 7, 1885, graduatd in 1891, and departed on October 8, 1893. The file indicates Archiquette was a disciplinarian and band leader at the Indian School in Fort Simcoe, Washington in 1907 and 1910, overseer of Indian employment at Rocky Ford, Colorado, and superintendent of Grand Portage, Minnesota in 1915.
