Student file of Joseph Morrison, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 23, 1890, and departed on January 16, 1893. The file contains a student information card, returned student surveys, a newspaper clipping, a former student response postcard, a trade/position card, and a report after leaving.

The file indicates Morrison worked as an Industrial teacher for one year, as an interpreter for the U.S. Chippewa Commission for four years, as a Government Interpreter for three years in the Indian Service as well as holding positions as a salesman in stores, a bookkeeper in a store and in lumber woods, and as a foreman in a lumber camp. Further Morrison was working as a painter in Red Lake, Minnesota in 1910, lumbering in northern Minnesota in 1911, logging in Red Lake, Minnesota in 1913.

Bemus Pierce Student File

Student file of Bemus Pierce, a member of the Seneca Nation, who entered the school on November 3, 1890, and departed on August 15, 1895. The file contains a student information card, trade/position record card, correspondence in which Pierce argues against "the movement... to exclude the New York Indians from the Carlisle Indian School," news clippings, and a report after leaving that indicates Pierce was a farmer in Irving, New York in 1910. This student file also includes a letter from Richard Henry Pratt to Superintendent Oscar H. Lipps in which Pratt recommended that Pierce be "Mr. Warner successor" as football coach at the school.

Edward Rogers (Enwwayie dung) Student File

Student file of Edward Rogers (Enwwayie dung), a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on November 15, 1890, graduated in 1897, and departed on July 2, 1901. The file contains news clippings, former student response postcards, a student information card, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, and letters/correspondence.

The file indicates Rogers was the captain of the 1900 Carlisle football team and later coached the team.  The file also indicates that Rogers attended the Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall), Dickinson College, Dickinson Law School, and the University of Minnesota Law School, was practicing law in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1907, was an attorney at law in Walker, Minnesota from 1909 to 1913, and was elected to the head chief of the Chippewas in 1913.
