The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a medical/physical record, financial transactions, a news clipping, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates that Edwards was living in Anadarko, Oklahoma in 1916 and 1917.

Beulah George Student File

Student file of Beulah George, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on October 22, 1914 and departed on June 20, 1918. The file contains a student information card, an application for enrollment, a physical record, a newspaper clipping, a certificate of promotion, an outing record, letters and correspondence, and a progress report from Montclair High School. The records indicate that George had plans to be a domestic art teacher after finishing her schooling.

Student file of Michael Gurno, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 28, 1914, graduated in 1917, and departed on June 12, 1917. The file contains a student information card, a newspaper clipping, an application for enrollment, letters/correspondence, and certificates of promotion. The files indicate that after leaving the school, Gurno returned home to Wrenshall, Minnesota. 

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Michael Gurno and Mike Gurno.

Student file of Sarah Fowler, a member of the Choctaw Nation, who entered the school on September 4, 1915, graudated in 1917, and departed on July 4, 1918. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a progress/conduct card, a certificate of promotion, financial transactions, a news clipping, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Fowler attended the West Chester Normal School on the outing program in 1917 and 1918. The file indicates Fowler was living in Millerton, Oklahoma in 1918.

Thomas Hawk Student File

Student file of Thomas Hawk, a member of the Gros Ventre Nation, who entered the school on November 5, 1915 and ultimately departed on October 3, 1917. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, a news clipping, a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates that Hawk played football while at Carlisle and was a member of the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Caswell where he was a member of the Fort baseball team and band as well as a wrestler and boxer. He was further chosen as a member of the trench mortars, Battery B known as the "Suicide Brigade" or "The Hub of the Wheel" in 1917.

Emmet Gary Student File

Student file of Emmet Gary, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1916 and departed on March 28, 1918. This file includes student information cards, an application for enrollment, a news clipping, financial transactions, progress reports, and correspondence indicating that Gary enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.

William King Student File

Student file of William King, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on December 3, 1916 and departed on January 14, 1918. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, letters and correspondence regarding outings, finances, and his life after leaving the school. A letter, dated January 24, 1918, indicates he had joined the Navy. The letter also includes information about his fellow students stationed at the same training camp. A news clipping from 1918, announcing that King died in a Virginia hospital, indicates that he was "the first student of the Carlisle Indian School to enlist in service after the United States declared war."
