Sadie Ingalls (Po-naw-po-qua) Student File

Student file of Sadie Ingalls (Po-naw-po-qua), a member of the Sac & Fox Nation, who entered the school on September 9, 1906 and ultimately departed on October 7, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, a medical/physical record, a former student response postcard, outing records, financial transactions, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, a returned student survey, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates that Ingalls won first prize in an essay contest on Home Building in 1913, graduated in 1913, was a student at the Banks Business College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1914 and 1915, and was living in Washington D. C. in 1917.

Cora Elm Student File

Student file of Cora Elm, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on December 23, 1906, graduated in 1913, and ultimately departed on September 24, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, photographs, financial transactions, applications for enrollment, outing records, a progress/conduct card, outing evaluations, medical/physical records, a returned student survey, and letters/correspondence.

The file indicates that Elm was a student in the nurses training course at the Protestant Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1913 and 1914 on the outing program, continued the course in 1914, and graduated in 1916.  It also shows that she was the supervisor of wards at the Protestant Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1917, and was a nurse with the American Expeditionary Force, Unit 34 based in France in 1917 and 1918.
