Thomas Metoxen Student File

Student file of Thomas Metoxen, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 30, 1885, graduated in 1892, and ultimately departed on October 22, 1892. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, returned student surveys, a former student response postcard, a letter/correspondence, a photograph, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Metoxen was a farmer in Kaukauna, Wisconsin in 1907 and 1911 and a farmer in West DePere, Wisconsin in 1912.

Note: These documents was found filed at the U.S. National Archives in the same folder as a document related to a different Thomas Metoxen.

Student information card of Solomon Brown (Hearing His Voice), a member of the Assiniboine Nation, who entered the school on April 13, 1890 and died on July 15, 1894. Brown was buried in the cemetery on the school grounds.

Moses Patterson Student File

Student file of Moses Patterson, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, who entered the school on February 13, 1891, and departed on September 19, 1895. The file contains a student information card, returned student surveys, letters and correspondence, a newspaper clipping, former student response postcards, and a report after leaving indicating that in 1910 Patterson was working as a farmer in Lewiston, New York before working in concrete construction in 1913.

Lassla Bigjim (Lasslilih) Student File

Student file of Lassla Bigjim (Lasslilih), a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on June 10, 1894 and departed on April 4, 1899. The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating that Bigjim was working as a farm hand in 1910.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Lessla Bigjim and Lassla Bigjim.

Peter Long (T-chu-dah-u lah tah) Student File

Student file of Peter Long (T-chu-dah-u lah tah), a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on June 10, 1894, and departed on September 19, 1899.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that he was working as a solder in the United States Army, stationed in Columbus, Ohio, in 1910.

Student file of James Green, a member of the Ottawa Nation, who entered the school on August 23, 1895 and departed on June 28, 1900. The file contains a student information card, a trade/position record card, a report after leaving, and a returned student survey. The file indicates Green was a farmer in Boyne City, Michigan in 1911.

Stephen Parish Student File

Student file of Stephen Parish, a member of the Ukiah Nation, who entered the school on August 13, 1897, and departed on July 30, 1903. The file contains a student information card, correspondence regarding a financial transaction, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, and a former student response postcard that indicates Parish was working as a farmer in Manchester, California in 1914.

Parish is listed as a member of the Ukiah Nation on his student information card, but wrote that he was Pomo on the former student response postcard in the file.
