Alfred Brown (Na'koya'ta) Student File

Student file of Alfred Brown (Na'koya'ta), a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1879, and departed on April 3, 1883.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that he was living in Oklahoma between 1910 and 1913, working as an interpreter and evangelist.

Student file of Oscar Bull Bear, a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1879, and ultimately departed on September 15, 1885.  The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered.  The file contains student information cards, correspondence, and a report after leaving that indicates that he was working as a farmer in Clinton, Oklahoma, in 1910.

John Washa (Tomahawk) Student File

Student file of John Washa (also known as John Washee and Tomahawk), a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on October 27, 1879, and departed on July 1, 1882.  The file contains a student information card, a newspaper clipping, correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates that in 1910 he was farming in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Michael Burns Student File

Student file of Michael Burns, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on October 26, 1880, and departed on October 6, 1884.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a position card, a returned student survey, correspondence, a newspaper clipping, and a report after leaving indicating that Burns was working as a farmer in McDowell, Arizona, from 1914 to 1915.  The records also indicate that, in 1910, Burns was a student in the Riverside School of Riverside, California.

Ernie Black (Little Wolf) Student File

Student file of Ernie Black, a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on February 3, 1881, and departed on June 14, 1887.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response survey, and a report after leaving indicating that he was living in Cantonment and Longdale, Oklahoma, working as an interpreter between 1910 and 1914.

Levi Levering Student File

Student file of Levi Levering, a member of the Omaha Nation, who entered the school on August 19, 1882 and ultimately departed on July 2, 1891. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, news clippings, returned student surveys, a former student response postcard, a report after leaving, a trade/position record card, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Levering attended Bellevue College in Nebraska, was a teacher in the Indian Service for ten years, an Indian trader in Macy, Nebraska in 1907 and 1910, and the Superintendent of the Muyaka Boarding School in Beggs, Oklahoma in 1912.

Justin Head (Rat Head) Student File

Student file of Justin Head, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on February 2, 1884 and departed on March 1, 1892. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, land grants, parole records, an outing evaluation, letters/correspondence concerning Head's parole, a trade/position record card, a medical/physical record, financial transactions, newspaper clippings, a Senate resolution, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Head was living in Florence, Arizona in 1911 and living in Trenton, New Jersey in 1915.

Note: At the time of scanning in the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this folder seemed to relate to a different student, Henry Herrara. Those documents have now been included in the Henry Herrera file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 107_folder 4523.

Oswald Smith (Na-cha-no-tethla) Student File

Student file of Oswald Smith (Na-cha-no-tethla), a member of the Apache Nation, who enetered the school November 4, 1886, and departed on March 26, 1894.  The file contains a handwritten student information card, two returned student surveys, and a report after leaving which indicates that he was serving as a U.S. Indian Scout in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1911.

Asa Daklugie (Da-klu-gie) Student File

Student file of Asa Daklugie, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on December 8, 1886, and departed on November 7, 1895.  The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that, in 1913, Daklugie was working as a laborer in Mescalero, New Mexico.

Note: Daklugie married former student Ramona Chihuahua.

Clay Domieah (Dom-ie-ah) Student File

Student file of Clay Domieah, a member of the Apache Nation, who entered the school on April 30, 1887 and departed on July 12, 1897. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Domeah was working as a farmer in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1912.

Note: In the records this student is known as Clay Domieah and Clay Domeah.

Jacob Walker Cobmoosa Student File

The file contains a student information card, correspondence, former student response postcards, a position card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Cobmoosa was working as a carpenter in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in 1913.

Jacob Walker Cobmoosa often goes by Jacob Cobmoosa and Jacob Walker.

Star Bad Boy Student File

Student file of Star Bad Boy, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 23, 1890, and departed on October 8, 1893.  The file contains a student information card, returned student surveys, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating that he was working as a goverment police officer and private in White Earth, Minnesota, from 1910 to 1912.

Note: A letter in this file indicates that student Josephine Warren was his daughter.

Student file of William Larch, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on December 14, 1893, and departed on September 19, 1899.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving that indicates that he was living in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, between 1910 and 1913, working as a farmer and chauffeur.

Joseph Saunooke Student File

Student file of Joseph Saunooke, a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on December 14, 1893, and departed on March 7, 1899.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, correspondence, and a report after leaving.  According to the files, Saunooke was the Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in 1914.

Frank Cajune Student File

Student file of Frank Cajune, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 13, 1895, and departed on July 5, 1897. The file contains a student information card, a newspaper clipping, correspondence, a position card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The files indicate that Frank Cajune was working in Real Estate in 1910 in Mahnomen, Minnesota.

Note: Cajune married fellow student Julia van Wert and was the father of student Frances Cajune. Some of the correspondence in this file concerns Frank Cajune's attempts to enroll his daughter Frances Cajune at the school.

Robert Hallett Student File
