Roger Mumblehead Student File

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file indicates that Mumblehead attended summer school at the Normal School in Millersville, Pennsylvania in 1915 and was working in the home of William B. Gray in Langhorne, Pennsylvania in 1916.

James Pablo Pino Student File

Student file of James Pablo Pino, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on November 28, 1911 and departed on June 7, 1916. The file contains a student information card, an application for enrollment, outing evaluations, outing records, letters/correspondence, and a financial transaction. The file indicates Pino was working in the round house of the Santa Fe Co. in Riverbank, California in 1917.

Note: in this file the student is identified as James Pino, James L. Pino, James Pablo Pino, and James Kiwera.

The file indicates that French studied painting while at Carlisle.

Note: In this file the student is referred to as Meroney French and Meroni French

Student file of John White, a member of the Mohawk Nation, who entered the school on December 23, 1911 and ultimately departed on May 5, 1918. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, letters/correspondence, an outing record, an application for enrollment, an outing evaluation, and financial transactions. The file contains several letters discussing John's recruitment of students from his home town.

Note: At the time of the scanning at the US National Archives, several documents in this student file seemed to relate to a different student also named John White. These documents have now been included with that John White file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 139_folder 5486.

The files indicate that while at Carlisle, Cushing studied engineering.

William Thayer Student File

Student file of William Thayer, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 30, 1912, graduated in 1915, and departed on May 24, 1915. The file contains student information cards, an outing record, an outing evaluation, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, financial transactions, returned student survey, and letters/correspondence including a essay prize from 1914. The file indicates Thayer was working at the Hayward Indian School in Hayward, Wisconsin in 1916 and stationed at the Naval Training Camp in Charleston, South Carolina in 1917.

Note: A document in this file seemed to relate to different students, Charles and Fred Walker. That document has now been included with these respective files: Charles Walker, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 133_folder 5223; and Fred Walker, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 133_folder 5224.
