George Dailey (Waydolia) Student File

Joseph Ross Student File

Student file of Joseph Ross, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on October 23, 1904 and ultimately departed on June 11, 1911. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a photograph, student information cards, progress/conduct cards, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, a returned student survey, letter/correspondence, a former student response postcard, an outing record, a trade/position record card, and a report after leaving.

The file indicates that Ross went to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the band in 1908, on two outings with the Battlefield Photo Co. in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 1910. After departing the school, Ross was a rancher in Seama, New Mexico in 1912 and 1913 as well as a machinist helper in 1912 with the Santa Fe Railroad Co. and was living in Gallup, New Mexico in 1916.

Note: Ross married fellow student Lettie Chase.

Leno Jeremiah Student File

Student file of Leno Jeremiah, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school October 23, 1904 and departed September 23, 1909. The file contains a position record card, a student information card, a returned student survey, former student response postcards, correspondence, an outing record, a progress card, and a report after leaving which indicates that he was herding in Paquate, New Mexico (via Laguna) in 1914.

Note: The student's surname while at the school seems to be Jeremiah, also spelled Cheremiah, but he later uses the surname Cheromillo.

John Corn (Ee-te-ne) Student File

Student file of John Corn (Ee-te-ne), a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on October 23, 1904 and departed on June 23, 1909. The file contains a student information card listing two outings, a progress/conduct card, letters/correspondence with the school, a news clipping, a medical/physical record, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Corn was a laborer in Paguate, New Mexico in 1914.

Note: The physical record card in this file is not entirely consistent with the student information card and other documents in the file. The information on the form may have been recorded incorrectly, or may belong to another student.

Davis Nori Student Information Cards

The file indicates Nori re-enrolled on April 12, 1915 and transferred to the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas upon the closure of the Carlisle Indian School.

Note: Some of the documents related to John Chaves were originally found filed at the National Archives in the folder of a different student; John Manuel Chaves, NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 30_folder 4120.

Paul Juan Student File

Student file of Paul Juan, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on October 7, 1914. No departure date is given. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, an outing evaluation, a certificate of promotion, financial transactions, letters/correspondence, an outing record, medical/physical records, and a financial aid application. During Paul's time at the school he went on several outings to work on farms in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Student file of John Alonzo, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on October 7, 1914. No departure date is given. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, letters, an outing record, an application for financial aid, and progress reports. The file contains letters from John writing back after leaving to close his account and settle his debts.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, a document in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Joseph Alonzo. That document has now been included with the Joseph Alonzo file: NARA_1327_b100_f4361.
