Frank Hudson Student File

The file contains news clippings, a trade/position record card, a student information card, financial transactions, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Hudson was a quarterback and kicker on the Carlisle football team as well as being a captain on the basketball and baseball teams, a financial clerk at the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, was farming on shares in Wycombe, Pennsylvania in 1911, and was in the advertising business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1917.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Anna Morton, Annie Morton, and Annie Moatya.

The file indicates Kowuni attended the Drexel Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1897 and 1898, was a laundress in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1907, a housewife in Casa Blanca, New Mexico in 1909, and an assistant seamstress in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1912 and 1913.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, a document in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Chauncey E. Archiquette. That document has now been included with the Chauncey E. Archiquette file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 136_folder 5324.

Seweyea is listed as a member of the Queres Nation on his first student information card, but the student information card used for Seweyea's return to Carlisle lists him as a member of the Pueblo Nation.

Student file of John Uyya, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1889 and ultimately departed on March 27, 1899. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that Uyya was working as a farmer and rancher in Seama, New Mexico in 1913. Uyya also attended a school in Sante Fe, New Mexico from 1894 to 1895.

Note: Uyya is also known by the surname Uya.

The file indicates that Tapia was a black smith and working at home in Pojoaque, New Mexico in 1907, was teaching at a Santa Fe, New Mexico District School in 1909 while also serving as an interpreter, and was a night watch in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1910.
