Thomas A. Skenandore Student File

Student file of Thomas A Skenandore, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on March 23, 1888 and ultimately departed on May 18, 1896. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains two student information cards, a newspaper clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Skenandore was farming in West De Pere, Wisconsin in 1910 and was the second American Indian to serve in the United States Navy.

Note: In the file the student is identifed as Thomas A. Skenandore and William Schenandoah, and Thomas Schanandore.

Student file of Homer Patterson, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, who entered the school on February 13, 1891 and ultimately departed on July 5, 1897. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, newspaper clippings, a trade/position record card, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Patterson was a carpenter in Lewiston, New York in 1909 and 1913 and living in Lewiston, New York in 1916 and 1918.

Jesse Kenjockety Student File

Student file of Jesse Kenjockety, a member of the Cayuga Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1892, and ultimately departed on March 29, 1909. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains multiple student information cards, an application for admission, a progress report card, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and a report after leaving.

Peter Long (T-chu-dah-u lah tah) Student File

Student file of Peter Long (T-chu-dah-u lah tah), a member of the Cherokee Nation, who entered the school on June 10, 1894, and departed on September 19, 1899.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that he was working as a solder in the United States Army, stationed in Columbus, Ohio, in 1910.

Joseph Schuyler Student File

Student file of Joseph Schuyler, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 29, 1894, and departed on September 18, 1900.  The file contains a student information card, a newspaper clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Schuyler was working as a steamfitter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1911.

Thomas Bear Student File

Student file of Thomas Bear, a member of the Winnebago Nation, who entered the school on August 22, 1896, and departed on July 4, 1902. The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving that indicates Bear was working as a farmer in Winnebago, Nebraska in 1910.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, David Bero. Those documents have now been included with the David Bero file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 79_folder 3753.

Note: Bear married former student Emma Logan.

The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating. The file indicates Mishler was farming in Spring Brook, Wisconsin in 1910.

The file indicates Crow attended the Cherokee Training School and was a farmer in Cherokee, North Carolina in 1910 and 1911.

The file contains a student information card, former student response postcards, letters and correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating Johnson was working as a farmer and a trucker in Saubon, New York in 1910 before moving to Lewiston, New York in 1915.
