Welch Teesateskee Student File

Student file of Welch Teesateskee, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on October 22, 1914, and departed on April 14, 1917. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a photograph, a medical/physical record, a federal financial aid form, an outing record, financial transactions, a report after leaving, and correspondence regarding Teesateskee's service in World War I. The file indicates he was serving as a naval officer on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania in 1917 and was stationed at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1918.

In school documentation Welch Teesateskee's name is also spelled Welch Teesatesky, Welch Teesataski, Welch Teesatsky, Welch Teesateskie, Welch Teesateske, Welch Tesateskey, and Welch Teesateska.

Note: The Robert Crowe who signed Teesateskee's application was his brother acting as guardian. Crowe attended Carlisle under the name Robert Bigmeat.
