Benjamin Black Elk Student File

Student file of Benjamin Black Elk, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 10, 1914 and departed on July 10, 1917. The file contains student information cards, an outing record, outing evaluations, financial transactions, an application for enrollment, correspondence mainly regarding Black Elk's ability to attend Catholic Mass during his time on the outing program in Ivyland, Pennsylvania, a federal financial aid form, and a certificate of promotion. The file indicates that Black Elk was living in Manderson, South Dakota in 1917.

In school documentation Benjamin Black Elk's name is also spelled Benjamin Blackelk and Benjamin Black-elk. He is also known as Ben Black Elk.
