The first article, written by George P. Donehoo, discussed the “white plague” given to American Indians. Donehoo argued that the “white plague” was vices, such as alcohol that have devastated communities of Indians. Angus Nicholson, the author of the next article, wrote about the history of the Menominee, focusing on their lumber industry. In the legends, stories, and customs section, Elmer Busch discussed the Pomo Indian's use of acorn bread. Also in this section, Agnes Waite wrote of the old Pueblo of DeTaos. Finally, in the editor’s comment section, the Carlisle athletes at the Stockholm Olympics were discussed, as well as the Indian service, and the voting rights of Canadian Indians. This issue also contained information about graduates and ex-students.
