Proposal to Have a Group of Navajo Students Enroll at Carlisle

Date
January 25, 1889

Richard Henry Pratt provides his recommendations on securing a party of Navajo students for the Carlisle Indian School. Pratt indicates that the agent should attempt to gather 50 students with a minimum of one-third of the party being girls and to have no students under the age of 12. When the party is ready he can have a Carlisle School employee serve as escort if no one from the agency can serve that purpose.
